Miniature Golf Supplies for Setting up Your Own Mini Golf Course

Golf can be a fantastic game; however, not all children share this same view. Many youngsters do not have the skills or the patience to navigate 18 holes on the traditional green. So what can these families do to inspire the love of golf? They can play miniature golf! Great for the whole family, miniature golf can be challenging enough for mom and dad to practice their putting, while fun enough that even the younger crowd can take part.

For those with both business and golf skills, running a miniature golf course can be a great business venture. But every miniature golf course needs certain equipment to help keep it running smoothly. Let’s take a look at a variety of the items you might consider.

Keeping it colorful

Kids love color. Plus having equipment in different colors can make it easier for everyone in the group to tell whose ball is whose. Many miniature golf courses decide to use colored balls on the course instead of the traditional white. Miniature golf balls can come in a variety of colors, in bold, pastels, or even neon. And with such brightly colored balls, you may want to consider a hanging ball dispenser that allows you to display the different colors while still keeping them organized.

And if you are going to go for color, why not allow the color to extend to the clubs as well? Some miniature golf course owners choose to have different colors and different lengths of clubs to make it easy to provide the appropriate length. Others may choose to have a variety of colors in all lengths. Either way, you still have plenty of options – go with a club with a colored rubber head and/or add colored rubber grips to your clubs.

Playing the course

How you set up your miniature golf course is up to you, but there are always plenty of options. Besides the traditional moving windmills, ramps, and tunnels, some miniature golf course owners choose to add some realism to their links. For instance, you could consider adding fringe turf around the edges to simulate the rough around the greens. Or you could consider putting in appropriate placed water hazards (though if you do, it is recommended to get floating balls).

Another aspect to consider is how you will have your patrons tee off. For miniature golf, it usually is not realistic to expect patrons to stick in a tee and then hit the ball only 4 feet. For putting purposes, a tee off mat is usually the better option. Tee off mats will generally have three holes the act as tees and allow players to choose three different angles to attack the course from.

Keeping score

While everyone will insist that they play a round of miniature golf for fun, many of these same players will also want to keep score to see who wins. Score cards are an easy way to do this – simply give all players a blank card and a pencil and they can keep track themselves.

Miniature golf supplies will make setting up your own miniature golf course easier and more efficient and allow your clients to have more fun.
